Everyone can get a good chuckle by laughing at themselves. It’s one of the best ways to break up stress and improve mental health. But not everyone is able to laugh at themselves, and if you’re not someone who has mastered this skill yet then you should start practicing! In this blog post, we will discuss 11 different examples of people laughing at themselves in order to help inspire you to be more self-aware.

The examples in this blog post will cover the following:

Laughter can help you maintain good mental health.

Laughing at yourself is a great way to break up stress and negative feelings!

Don’t take life too seriously… even if it’s just for five minutes!

You should give your friends permission to laugh with you, not at you. And vice versa.

Humor creates an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves and let their guard down. It also helps promote bonding by making others like us more (they perceive we are less threatening).

So now that we’ve covered some of the benefits of laughing at ourselves, here are 11 ways for how to do so!

Watch a funny movie.

Tell jokes to your friends and family (go ahead, make them cringe).

Get silly with kids! They LOVE it.

Make up ridiculous words like “bobblesnorkles.” The sillier the better! Share something on social media that makes you laugh so others can enjoy too. This is also a great way of getting some positive feedback or encouragement if you’re feeling down about yourself right now. It’s nice when we get out of our own head for awhile and then come back refreshed later on in life! ๐Ÿ™‚ ย If you’d rather not share online, just read an article online or watch YouTube clips–try different things until you find something that tickles your funny bone.

Daydream about what you would do if _____ happened to you today, and then laugh at the ridiculous things you came up with in this hypothetical scenario! This is a really good way of getting some stress relief as well ๐Ÿ™‚

Ask yourself “what could go wrong?” before doing anything–it’s always fun to imagine worst case scenarios when we’re feeling down sometimes because it makes our lives seem so much more manageable ๐Ÿ˜‰

Try out new jokes on friends or family members first and see how they react–or if you feel like being daring, tell an inappropriate joke just once for kicks (don’t make a habit out of it!). ย The reactions will be priceless ๐Ÿ˜€

Tell them a corny joke that you know they’ll laugh at.

Pick up the phone and call someone who always cheers you up–whether it’s your best friend or an old family member, talking to people we care about can make us feel better when life gets tough ๐Ÿ™‚

Look online for a funny quote and share it on social media so others can read how clever you are ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย It will get likes! ๐Ÿ˜€

Watch something funny–even if it’s a commercial break with 30 seconds of Mr. Bean clips in between other shows, laughing is good for our health (and even promotes weight loss). ย Plus there are plenty of classic movies out there like Airplane!, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and Monty Python that are guaranteed to make you chuckle.

Read a children’s book–this could be a Disney story or one of the many Dr. Seuss classics like The Cat In The Hat (my personal favorite). ย Plus any funny text in bold will always garner some laughs ๐Ÿ˜‰

Write something silly on your body with markers while wearing your swimsuit if it’s hot out ๐Ÿ˜€

Put together an impromptu comedy show with friends where everyone gets up and plays their best joke – not only does this provide entertainment for everybody involved but also allows people to feel more confident standing onstage by seeing how others react ๐Ÿ™‚

Make someone else laugh–whether it s cracking a goofy voice which is adorable or making up an awesome knock-knock joke, it’s always hilarious to see someone else laugh ๐Ÿ˜€

Receive a compliment–even if the person is lying and telling you how great your hair looks when they know it’s really bad. ย It doesn’t even have to be from another human; I’ve had lots of laughs by just looking at my dog!

Ask yourself out on a date–seriously, set aside some time for you and do something that’ll make you feel good: go get ice cream or buy some new clothes. ย Plus not only will this help build self esteem but also remind other people that there are plenty of fish in the sea ๐Ÿ˜‰

Watch YouTube videos with funny animals like cats, dogs, or any other cute animals

Watch a funny movie that has you LOLing the whole time

Read something you wrote and laugh at it. ย When I read my earlier drafts of this post I was cracking up!

Create your own memes–it’s always hilarious to see what people come up with when they’re making their own jokes: pictures from movies/tv shows captioned in ridiculous ways are some favorites for me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Make sure to have plenty of laughs on purpose if you don’t happen to find yourself laughing by accident ๐Ÿ™‚ ย It’s important not just for our mood but also because laughter is known to be one of the best medicines there is out there so go ahead and take advantage .
