I am going to share a few of my favorite things with you. The first is my new blog, adyouneed.com. This is the place for my personal thoughts, advice, and ramblings on the things we need to stop and think before we spend our money. I have decided to start it in order to have a space that is not only free of ads, but also where you can come to say hi, get inspired, and keep up with my blog.
Adyouneed is an experiment in what can be done when someone has no sense of self-worth. I am going to share my personal experiences with you, so you can avoid the next big mistake as well.
I think the word “self-worth” is a very tricky subject. We are all taught to feel good about ourselves by others, but deep down we know we are terrible human beings who need to take care of ourselves first. But if we don’t stop to think about it, we’ll inevitably end up feeling depressed and worthless.
As Adyouneed’s creator, I believe that everyone has the right to feel good about themselves. I think most of us are just not aware of our own worth. We don’t know why we are different, why we didn’t get that job, why we have to be so perfect, and so on and so on. The point of Adyouneed is that we can each bring our own unique perspective to the table. I will use myself as an example.
I come from a very privileged background. Since I was 8 years old I have never experienced a single day where I have felt like I was on top of the world. I guess that is what being able to afford a house on my own is like. I have never felt like I was anything other than the richest girl in class. Yet, I still struggle to find the right words to describe myself.
That’s the thing with self-awareness. It’s easy to feel pretty confident and put all the pieces together, but it gets even easier as the experience continues. We can only truly feel this when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable and open to the world. This is another reason why it’s so important to take classes and study for a while. You never know where you’ll be in a few years and you can open up to the world and take a deep breath and just let it flow.
The hardest part about studying for a while is finding the words. A lot of students feel like they have to get it down right, but it’s so hard to find the right words. There are so many words to feel, even the ones you don’t know. The first time I met a friend I hadn’t seen for a while, we were both so anxious to say the first thing that we just blurted it out.
AdyUs has always had a pretty loose structure. The first four classes are all about the basics like reading, writing, and spelling, and then you’re set up for the next four classes where it gets more advanced in some classes.
The idea behind adyouneed is that it takes a more advanced class than your average game, and then it just gets you to the best you can get. While it’s not exactly “game-lite,” it does have an element of “game” in it. When you complete each class, it will give you a score that is based on how much you learned.
It actually reminds me of a game that I was in called The Book of Life. The idea there really is that you have a book called The Book of Life with all the rules for playing the game of life, but you have to learn these rules through trial and error, not by trying to get a book to do it for you.
