So we all know that hiring someone to do a job is a daunting task. The task of actually finding someone who can do the job we want done well can sometimes seem impossible.
We’ve all been there. No one wants to hire a contractor that has a reputation of not doing what they said they’d do. The issue is that a lot of times when people try to hire someone based on their reputation, they’ll end up with someone who can do the job just fine. Unfortunately, this leads to lots of bad contracts, which leads to bad people working in the industry.
The last thing we want is someone that is just a good guy with a bad reputation. We need people who do what they say they do and make the best use of their talents. While there are plenty of jobs for people that are just good, there are also plenty of jobs that are not. In any given job we hire someone who is able to do the job well, and can add value to the business.
Hiring a contract employee, no matter how good they may be, is a gamble. Not only is the person working for an organization that is going to get more money, but they are also someone that is going to be around for the next six months or longer. This means that they are going to be on the lookout for the next new job, which is going to be harder than it should be.
In reality, you’re more likely to hire someone who is a bit younger than you are, because they will have experience. I have seen the difference this can make on the job search. I have known a couple of people that have hired people that are a bit older than them. These were not the people who were going to do the job well, but they were the ones that were going to be around to do the job for a bit longer.
The job search is probably the most important aspect of life. So when you are going through the long, stress-filled search process, you can’t really afford to waste your time on someone who is probably going to hire you for less money.
But then again, that is kind of what the job search is, right? The only people who are hiring are people who are going to hire people for less money. So if you are going into a job search, you are definitely not going to hire someone who is going to hire you for $50/hr. Or $75/hr. Or $100/hr. Or whatever.
So what are some things that you should look for when going into a job search? I suggest hiring a resume writer and asking for recommendations from your friends and family. Also, you can look online for job openings. There are plenty of sites out there that will help you decide if the position is a good fit for you. Also, make sure that the company you choose provides a good benefits package.
