Epic Tier List of the Greatest Civilizations in History

The Epic Tier List of the Greatest Civilizations in History is a study that ranks civilizations based on their military, economic, and cultural power. The list places civilizations into one of four tiers: Superpower, Great Power, Regional Power, or Minor Power. This ranking system will allow readers to compare different cultures from around the world and better understand how they have shaped history like leadership under US Presidents in Order.

It’s time for you to get caught up with this week’s blog post! I’ll be discussing my thoughts about what we should expect from Civilization VI (the newest installment in Sid Meier’s iconic series).

I think it’s safe to say most people are really excited for Civ VI after watching trailers like this one:

It’s hard to tell what changes are in store for the game, but I have my own personal wishlist:

A more dynamic diplomatic system with more choices that aren’t just trade routes or peace treaties.

Trade caravans! That sounds like a great idea and could be fun to manage!

More diverse civilizations (both gender wise and ethnically). It would also be cool if we had some representation of cultures from other continents besides Europe this time around. There’s been so many games about Europeans already…I think it might do wonders for Firaxis’ reputation as well. Maybe they’ll take a cue from Crusader Kings II? 😉

Anyway, stay tuned for next week’s blog post:

“The Worst Civilizations of All Time: An End-of-Year List.”

This week, we’ll be looking at the worst civilizations in history. For this list I’ve selected a variety of interpretations to try and include as many different views or perspectives on what it means to have been “bad”. There are some that might seem pretty obvious – like France’s 100% chance of being hella evil – but others might not be so clear cut. For instance, Russia has had plenty of bad moments throughout their storied existence (see 1917), but for most people they represent something else entirely: cold weather, vodka shots with your buddies at Christmas time…and VLADIMIR PUTIN! So without further ado, here are the worst civilizations of all time…

France: French people seem to have a knack for getting captured all the damn time. They’re like that kid in your neighborhood who always gets picked last in kickball and is constantly being bullied by his older brother – it’s just what they do. They’ve been on this list before but their penchant for surrendering has never ceased; I can only imagine how hard life must be if you spend every day waiting for someone else to rescue you!

Russia: There’s something about Russia that makes everyone feel vaguely uncomfortable around them. Maybe it’s because they refuse to take responsibility when things go south (see 1917), or maybe it was from watchin
