Adding someone to a Twitter list in Hootsuite is an easy way to organize the people you follow on Twitter. It keeps your timeline less cluttered and helps you find tweets from specific users more quickly. There are many reasons why you might want to add someone to a list, including if they’re new followers, their content interests you, or if they have something interesting going on. We’ll go over all of these reasons and some best practices for adding people to lists below!

Reasons: Why you might want to add someone to a list

New followers. If they’re new, it’s always good idea to put them in a list so that you can keep up with their tweets without clogging your timeline!

Content interests me. Maybe the person has something interesting going on or is tweeting about topics of interest for you. You will be able to see these tweets more quickly and easily by adding them to Twitter lists in Hootsuite!

I don’t know what else they tweet about besides this one topic we have in common. For example, if someone tweeted “I love my dog!” but then also talks mostly about music, you may not find all of their other posts by scrolling through their timeline. But by adding them to a list that has “loves dogs” in the name, you will be able to see all of those posts!

Best practices for adding people:

You don’t have to add everyone on Twitter or even every person you find interesting.

Use lists sparingly and only when necessary so your followers can easily follow what’s happening with topics they care about without feeling overwhelmed.

People are more likely to reply if they’re not flooded with notifications from others as well as yours (plus it helps protect against oversharing). For example, if someone is tweeting regularly but also mentions personal things like school stuff or health issues which may make some people uncomfortable reading them, you can add them to a list with the title of “private tweets” and know that this person is only talking about those topics to people who follow them.

Lists are a way for us to shape online discussions in ways that make it easier for like minded individuals or communities to connect and chat, without cluttering up the timeline with all these updates. For example: if there’s an event coming up which you want followers from your area to see but don’t want everyone else on Twitter seeing, you could create a new list called “Upcoming Events Near Me”. You then tweet out reminders using hashtags (#upcomingeventsnearme) so folks following their interests will be able to find it easily.”

“To make it easy for others to find your list, include the hashtag in your title. For example: Upcoming Events Near Me.”

When adding people or businesses to lists in Hootsuite, these best practices can help ensure you get more relevant content into their timeline,” lists are a way for us to shape online discussions in ways that make it easier for like minded individuals or communities to connect and chat without cluttering up the timeline with all these updates”

Lists are also a great way of sorting out important information about someones tweets; this article will talk about why someone would want to add someone else on Twitter as well as why they should follow them (and how) if they’re not already.

Be sure to include a description (people need context!) so they know why you’re adding them.

Consider tagging their Twitter handle in the list title as well, this will help make it easier for others to find your list and also ensure that all of their new followers see who is on the list.”

For example: “Upcoming Events Near Me”

or if someone has some great tips about twitter marketing lists can be used to sort out important information like how many people are following them or what content they tweet about most often!”
