Is it Safe to Microwave Cup Noodles?

Just about everyone can remember the first time that they had a cup of noodles. It might have been on a college budget or during childhood, but it’s likely that you associate this food with memories. However, there is some debate as to whether or not it’s safe to microwave these noodles.

Many people believe microwaving these noodles will cause them to heat unevenly and potentially burn your mouth when you try to eat them. Others argue that the amount of time in the microwave should be short enough so as not leave much time for burning.

The truth? There isn’t one! The FDA website says anything under 3 minutes is okay, but other sources say don’t do it at all! If you want delicious cup noodles, just stick to the stovetop.

After coming into contact with a pot of boiling water and simmering for about five minutes, you can then add your favorite cup noodles flavor packet. This is not only healthier but will also taste better than microwaving them!

If you want instant gratification without having to wait for hot water or if you’re tired of eating out every day, there are some other options available in stores as well. Cup noodle soup packets have enough ingredients inside that can be mixed together in a microwave-safe bowl and heated until they reach your desired temperature. You can also buy fresh packs of noodles at Trader Joe’s or any grocery store near you!
