So youre probably wondering what the hell is a PMA event, right? Well, I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant to post anything about a PMA event because I figured anyone who would say something about it would make it too obvious. But I’m glad I did because the more I find out about them, the more I find myself wanting to participate in them myself.
One of the PMA events is a weeklong PMA program sponsored by a company called The Product Marketing Alliance. The PMA program is an annual event where companies like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook come together to promote their products through the creation of an annual product catalog. Companies like Amazon and Pinterest are also listed as participants for their respective events.
Like most PMA events, I thought this one would be more of a “hangout” type of event. But this year, the PMA event was much more serious. There were some product pitches, lots of people mingling, and some really interesting discussions. For example, one of the PMA organizers was talking about how Google should look at the power of “influencers” and what you can do with them to drive clicks for your product.
I was impressed by how well the PMA event was put together. The event was in a church hall that is normally closed to outside parties, but there were plenty of food and drink options. The venue itself was well put together and the food was very good. It’s a big event, so I imagine there will be more than enough vendors to keep things moving.
I can’t really say much about the vendors except to say that I saw a lot of local restaurants and bars. There were a couple of local grocery stores too, along with a few other places to get a hot drink. This area is a bit of a tourist destination and I imagine that there will be a ton of walk-up visitors to the event.
