We can use our creativity to create anything in the creative realm. However, our goal when it comes to creating a game, RPG, or other creative work is to make it work. Making the game work for the player and be fun for the player’s friends and family are two separate challenges.
One of the reasons I love playing games and writing for them is because I get to make games, and I get to play them. Of course, not every game is a good fit for every player, but it’s fun to experiment with new gameplay mechanics and make games that are fun and challenging for everyone.
I know what you’re thinking, “but I want to make games!” I can totally relate. I’ve been playing video games since I was a child and still love them. However, I can’t help but feel like there are so many games out there that I haven’t tried or tried to play. I don’t know why that is. Maybe they suck or are too difficult or just aren’t worth my time.
