The Best Pokemon Evolutions Ranked by Sinoalice

When the Pokemon Company introduced Alolan forms, it was a double-edged sword. On one hand, we got new types of Pokemon that were more than welcome additions to the roster. On the other hand, however, some people felt upset that their favorite Pokemon had been replaced by something different and potentially less cool. This is probably because Nintendo decided not to include all of them in its own game. But what about those who are interested in playing? Well luckily for you I’ve compiled a list of all 151 Alola form Pokemon ranked from worst to best! So without further ado: let’s get started!

The first thing for me to say is that this was one of the most difficult lists I’ve ever worked on. There were so many Pokemon with great designs and movesets that it’s hard not to make a mistake! But in saying all this, here are my thoughts on some notable Alola form Pokemon – or at least ones I thought had an interesting design. Let’s start with…

Porygon

I don’t know what Nintendo was thinking with this design. Despite it being a newer Pokemon that’s been around since 1998, I can barely distinguish between the Alola form and its previous one. The only difference is some new lines on the body – but other than that they’re practically identical! When looking at these two versions of Porygon side by side there is no way to tell which one came first or last in terms of evolution; both are equally pathetic.c.

Tapu Koko

This is the best Alola form Pokemon, no question! I love the design for this one – it’s not only creative but also a fresh take on an old fan favorite that we’re all familiar with. And don’t even get me started on its moveset and ability; they’re fantastic to say the least! In my opinion, this is what every Alola version of a Pokemon should be like because it does everything right in terms of being scaled back (or enhanced) while still maintaining some similarity to how it looked before changing forms.

Aromatisse

The bottom part looks nothing like any previous designs for Arcanine and yet you can tell at first glance that it’s a Pokemon with the “fire” type. So while it does look completely different in terms of design, I think they did an excellent job at making this one still feel like Arcanine without being too unrecognizable to its roots.

Zoroark (Zorua)

I love how Zorua is just that much more capable than most other wild Pokemon; and for me, Zoroark feels kind of like that but even better or competitive play. And don’t forget about Illusion either since it can be used as a great way to potentially confuse your opponent!

Slaking

Slaking is a Pokemon that’s not only powerful, but also has the ability to keep up with opponents. And I think it goes without saying that this one can be very troublesome for most other trainers! So why wouldn’t you want something like Slaking?

Pangoro

I feel as though Pok é mon are always relying on brute power and strength when they evolve; which is understandable since those things usually help make them stronger in battle. However, some of my favorite evolutions often have more creative designs (such as Girafarig or Delphox) so there should be room for both types of evolution methods if we’re being honest here. That said, I think Pangoro falls under the more creative category and is just as powerful.

Carbink

I’m happy to see this one on sinoalice’s list because not many people know about it! I can’t blame them, though, since there are only a small number of Pokemon that have the ability to evolve into carbink (and they’re all used by trainers). That said, if you want someone who has the strength to make an excellent defender or fast enough for quick hitters – then this evolution should be right up your alley.

Golurk

It may seem like Golurk was made for those looking for brute power but believe me when I say that it also has incredible speed. And in case you were wondering: no other Pok émon has this ability!

Volcarona

I would say that volcarona is considered to be on the top of sinoalice’s list for a couple reasons. The first being that it can go through its evolution line and become one of two different “final” evolutions, which means you have a lot more power in choosing what final form your Pokemon will take. And second: I don’t think there’s another Pok émon out there with such incredible speed AND defense like volcarona does – not even good ol’ arcanine or charizard!

Metagross

Some people might disagree but I personally find metagross to be among the strongest Pok é mon that exist.
