The Best Way to Freeze Tamales

Yes, you can freeze tamales! If you have extra and want to store them for a later date or if you plan on making a large batch, this is the perfect solution. Here are some tips on how to best go about freezing your delicious tamales:

Wrap each tamale in aluminum foil before placing it inside of an airtight container. This protects the outside from getting freezer burned.

Put the tamales in their own individual containers so that they don’t touch one another and stick together.

Use wax paper between layers of food items in order to prevent them from sticking together when frozen.

Label your containers with the date of when they were frozen and use them within a few months.

This way there won’t be any issues if you forget about your tamales while preparing dinner; just make sure not to fill up the entire bag.
