Table of BattleMech Tonnage Cost by Category Compared with Percentage Requirements for Each Class
Light Units – 80/160 = 40% requirement per light unit type; cost is the same as percentage requirements in this case because it’s 40%. It will be cheaper than medium or heavy units if you only need light units.
Medium Units – 160/320 = 40% requirement per medium unit type; cost is the same as percentage requirements in this case because it’s also at 40%. Again, you can get more of these for less than heavy or assault mechs if all you require are medium units.
Heavy Units – 320/640 = 50% requirement per heavy unit type; cost is twice that of percentage requirements in this case because it’s 50%. This will be cheaper than other types only when getting lots and lots of those particular units. If you want any other category besides just the ones listed here then I would recommend a different strategy to buying battletech masters – blog post on how to buy BattleTech Masters coming soon.
Assault Units – 640/640 = 100% requirement per assault unit type; cost is four times that of percentage requirements in this case because it’s at 100%. This will be the most expensive category when you buy battletech masters, but if your objective is just to have one kind of mech then there are benefits.
Total Cost: 160+320+160=560 credits for light units and mediums, 320+320=640 credits for heavy units and assaults combined! Total Cbills required would be 560*100 + 640*200 = 1340000 CBills total which equates to around $1900 USD worth of BattleTech Masters without counting any other categories or support vehicles like aerospace fighters.
